Description of Funding The Charter Schools Stimulus Fund provides discretionary financial support to charter schools for start-up costs and for costs associated with the acquisition, renovation and construction of school facilities. Grants awarded by the New York State Board of Regents are capped at $200,000, and those awarded by the State University of New York are capped at $350,000. $6 million was appropriated for the 2007-08 school year; NYC appropriated $250M in its 2005-09 capital outlay budget to create the Charter Facilities Matching Grant Program.
